(4) Despite subparagraph (1), in particular cases or classes
of case, Public Trust and the depositor may agree on a rate
of interest payable on a special deposit that is different from
the rate specified in Schedule 1 and the agreed rate then
applies.
- Revocation of notice and transitional provisions—
(1) The Public Trust Common Fund Interest Rates Notice
3 July 2003 is revoked.
(2) The rates of interest specified in Schedule 1 to this notice
do not apply to any period that ends with 24 July 2003 but
otherwise operate as from 25 July 2003.
(3) The rates of interest specified in Schedule 2 to this
notice:
(i) do not apply to investment deposits repayable at
the end of a fixed term that commenced prior to
25 July 2003; but
(ii) do apply to investment deposits repayable at
the end of a fixed term that commenced on or after
25 July 2003.

Social Security Act 1964
Social Rehabilitation Assistance Programme
Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister for Social Development and Employment establishes and approves the following welfare programme for special assistance.

Programme

Title—This programme is the Social Rehabilitation Assistance Programme.

Commencement—This programme comes into effect on the day after the date on which the Minister approves it.

Purpose—The purpose of this programme is to provide financial assistance to help people resident in approved residential social rehabilitation programmes to pay the cost of their treatment or care in those programmes.

Interpretation—(1) In this programme, unless the context otherwise requires:
Act means the Social Security Act 1964
amount of benefit, in relation to a person, means:
(a) in the case of an unmarried person, the amount of benefit payable to the person; or
(b) in any other case, the proportion of the person’s benefit payable to the person in accordance with section 83 of the Act
applicant means a person who has made a written application for assistance under this programme or a person on whose behalf a written application for such assistance has been made
approved residential social rehabilitation programme means a residential programme set out in the Schedule, and
residential programme has a corresponding meaning
social rehabilitation assistance or assistance means the assistance under clause 6.
(2) Expressions otherwise defined in section 3 (1) of the Act have the meanings so defined.
- Application of the Social Security Act—(1) Sections 12, 62, 63, 74, 74A, 76, 77, 80A, 80BD (1), 81, 82 (1) and (4), and 84 of the Act apply to this programme and to any applicant and person granted assistance under it as if the assistance under it were a benefit.
