Traffic Regulations 1976

Exemption From Specified Requirement of the Traffic Regulations 1976

Pursuant to Regulation 90 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to the powers delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety Authority, I, Brent Blann, Technical Manager, hereby exempt the vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirement in Schedule 2, subject to the conditions in Schedule 3.

Schedule 1
Vehicle Details

All heavy goods service vehicles.

Schedule 2
Exempted Requirement

The requirement from which the class of vehicles in Schedule 1 is exempted:

Regulation 64 (2): Additional lamps on heavy motor vehicles.

Schedule 3
Conditions

(i) The vehicles covered in Schedule 1 have been certified as complying with one of the following standards for vehicle lighting installation:

(a) Australian Design Rule 13, Installation of lighting and light-signalling devices on other than L-group vehicles; or

(b) UN/ECE Regulation No. 48, uniform provisions concerning the approval of vehicles with regard to the installation of lighting and light-signalling devices.

(ii) This exemption will lapse on the day that Land Transport Rule: Vehicle Lighting (Rule 32005) comes into force.
