Defence Force Allowance Amendment 2003

Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment establishes and approves the following amendment to the Defence Force Allowance Programme (as established and approved on 29 October 1999).

Amendment

  1. Title—(1) This amendment is the Defence Force Allowance Amendment 2003.

    (2) In this amendment, the Defence Force Allowance Programme is called "the programme".

  2. Commencement—This amendment comes into effect on the day after the date on which the Minister approves it, and applies from the date of deployment of any of the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF) personnel to whom it applies.

  3. Amending Schedule—The Schedule of the programme is amended by adding the following paragraphs:

    1. NZDF personnel deployed in high risk operations in support of "Operation HAVEN" with a high environmental factor.
      NZ$120 per day
      If the person is not receiving a Mission Subsistence Allowance from the United Nations, an amount of between NZ$12 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of cost for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.

    2. NZDF personnel deployed in high risk operations in support of "Operation HAVEN" with a medium environmental factor.
      NZ$110 per day
      If the person is not receiving a Mission Subsistence Allowance from the United Nations, an amount of between NZ$12 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of cost for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.

    3. NZDF personnel deployed in high risk operations in support of "Operation HAVEN" with no environmental factor.
      NZ$100 per day
      If the person is not receiving a Mission Subsistence Allowance from the United Nations, an amount of between NZ$12 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of cost for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.

    4. NZDF personnel deployed in medium risk operations in support of "Operation HAVEN" with a high environmental factor.
      NZ$85 per day
      If the person is not receiving a Mission Subsistence Allowance from the United Nations, an amount of between NZ$12 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of cost for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.

    5. NZDF personnel deployed in medium risk operations in support of "Operation HAVEN" with a medium environmental factor.
      NZ$75 per day
      If the person is not receiving a Mission Subsistence Allowance from the United Nations, an amount of between NZ$12 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of cost for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.\n

    6. NZDF personnel deployed in medium risk operations in support of "Operation HAVEN" with no environmental factor.
      NZ$65 per day
      If the person is not receiving a Mission Subsistence Allowance from the United Nations, an amount of between NZ$12 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of cost for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.

    7. NZDF personnel deployed in low risk operations in support of "Operation HAVEN" with a high environmental factor.
      NZ$55 per day
      If the person is not receiving a Mission Subsistence Allowance from the United Nations, an amount of between NZ$12 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of cost for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.

    8. NZDF personnel deployed in low risk operations in support of "Operation HAVEN" with a medium environmental factor.
      NZ$45 per day
      If the person is not receiving a Mission Subsistence Allowance from the United Nations, an amount of between NZ$12 and NZ$54.90 per day set by the chief executive based on the location of deployment and the level of cost for that location having regard to Chapter 6, Annex A of Defence Force Order No. 5.
