Accident Compensation Corporation

Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Compensation Act 2001

Notice of Proposal to Recommend Changes to the Accident Insurance (Insurer’s Liability to Pay Cost of Treatment) Regulations 1999

Pursuant to section 324 of the Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation, and Compensation Act 2001, the Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC) gives notice of its intention to recommend to the Minister for ACC that proposed changes be made to the Accident Insurance (Insurer’s Liability to Pay Cost of Treatment) Regulations 1999.

A period of public consultation on the proposed Regulations is also notified and details are given below.

1. An explanation of ACC’s proposal to recommend that such Regulations be made, as well as the proposed Regulations, are contained in the document titled Cost of Treatment Regulations Consultation Document, which may be obtained:

   • by phoning 0508 533 535; or
   • by emailing consult@acc.co.nz; or
   • from the ACC web site: www.acc.co.nz; or
   • by writing to Treatment Costs Consultation, Project Management Office, ACC, P.O. Box 242, Wellington.

2. Written submissions on the proposed Regulations are invited from members of the public and interested organisations.

3. The last date on which ACC will receive written submissions on the proposed Regulations is Friday, 22 August 2003.

4. Submissions are to be forwarded to: Treatment Costs Consultation, Project Management Office, ACC, P.O. Box 242, Wellington.
