Land to be Acquired—Taupo Terrace, Grey District

Pursuant to the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, R. J. Sutherland, Land Information New Zealand:

(a) Pursuant to sections 17 and 20, declares the land described in the First Schedule hereto to be acquired for marginal strip to be vested in the Crown and held in terms of the Conservation Act 1987.

(b) Pursuant to section 106, declares the land described in the Second Schedule hereto to be granted in compensation and to be amalgamated with the land in certificate of title WS5C/811, Westland Land Registry.

(c) Pursuant to section 103, declares the granting in compensation of an easement in perpetuity at a nominal rental as described in the Third Schedule hereto.

Reserves Act 1977

Classification of Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Waikato District Council hereby classifies the reserve described in the Schedule hereto as a recreation reserve, subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Classification of Reserves

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Acting Community Relations Manager for the Wanganui Conservancy of the Department of Conservation hereby classifies the reserves described in the Schedule as local purpose reserves for the purposes specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the reserves, subject to the provisions of the Act.

Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993

Notice Redefining the Purposes of a Māori Reservation

Whereas by the notice dated the 8th day of October 1981 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 15 October 1981, No. 118, page 2841, part of the Māori freehold land known as Waipoua 2B3D2A2B2 created by partition order dated 23 March 1954, was set apart as a Māori reservation known as Pahinui Marae, for the purpose of a community marae for the common use and benefit of the Te Roroa tribe.

And whereas Waipoua 2B3D2A2B2C was partitioned by Court orders dated 20 May 1998 and 27 September 1994 to create Waipoua 2B3D2A2B2C.

And whereas, pursuant to section 338 (5) (c) of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the purpose of a community marae is redefined by changing the name of the Māori reservation that shall now be known as Pananawe in respect of the land described in the Schedule hereto.
