Explanatory Note

(This note is not part of the notice, but is intended to indicate its general effect).

This notice prescribes that, pursuant to regulation-making powers of the Radiocommunications Act 1989, a general user radio licence is granted for the transmission on the frequencies specified in the licence by means of radiocommunication transmitters intended for local-area broadcasting and known as β€œLow Power FM Broadcasting Short Range Devices”, or LPFM Broadcast, in accordance with the terms, conditions and restrictions of this notice.

This notice comes into force on 1 July 2003.

School Establishment

Pursuant to section 146 of the Education Act 1989, I hereby establish a primary school designated as a contributing school, to be known as Oteha Valley Primary School, at Medallion Drive, Albany.

Amendment of Notice of Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager at Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate (2425)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby amend the notice published in the New Zealand Gazette, 17 October 2002, page 3944, regarding the appointment of a limited statutory manager for Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate (2425).

The following additional function, power and duty of the board is vested in the limited statutory manager:

  • Personnel management to restructure ancillary staffing as three schools are placed together on one site.

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following:

  • Any matters arising from the above power, function or duty; and
  • all matters pertinent to their resolution.

This notice takes effect on the day after the date of publication of this notice.

The Linden School Board of Trustees By-election Invalidation Notice

Pursuant to clause 9 (3) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989, and acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education, I hereby declare invalid the advertised by-election for nominations (and all subsequent actions in accordance with the Education (Trustee Elections) Regulations 1992) for the election of two parent representatives for the Linden School board of trustees.

A new by-election will be advertised.

This notice takes effect the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Regulations 1998

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12 (1) (d) (i) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 18 September 2001, which was granted under those Regulations to Amber Aramoana, in respect of Te Whare Kohungahunga (30095), situated at 17 James Street, Whakatane.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

The Alcohol Advisory Council Levy Notice 2003

Pursuant to section 27 (1) of the Alcohol Advisory Council Act 1976, the Minister of Health hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Alcohol Advisory Council Levy Notice 2003.

  2. The rate of levy payable under section 28 of the Alcohol Advisory Council Act 1976 for the year ended 30 June 2004 shall be as follows:

Category Levy Rate
Beer 0.86c/litre plus G.S.T.
Spirits greater than 23% alcohol by volume 28.42c/litre of alcohol plus G.S.T.
Spirits not more than 23% alcohol by volume 5.21c/litre plus G.S.T.
Fortified wine 5.21c/litre plus G.S.T.
Unfortified wine 3.19c/litre plus G.S.T.
