Exemption From Specified Requirement of Land Transport Rule: Frontal Impact 2001

Pursuant to section 166 (1) of the Land Transport Act 1998 (“the Act”) and being satisfied on the matters in section 166 (2) of the Act, and under delegated authority, I, John Patrick White, Manager Safer Vehicles Policy, exempt each vehicle included in the chassis number range identified in Schedules 1, 2, 3 and 4 from the requirement in 2.3 (1) of Land Transport Rule: Frontal Impact 2001 (“the Rule”) to meet a version, as specified in 2.3 (4), of one of the approved vehicle standards in 2.3 (2).

Maritime Rules Part 21—Notice of Exemption From Rule 21.6 (3)

I, Russell Paul Kilvington, Director of Maritime Safety, pursuant to section 47 (2) (b) (i) and (ii), and section 47 (3) of the Maritime Transport Act 1994, hereby give notice as follows:

The owner and master of the MV Santa Regina is exempt from the requirement in Rule 21.6 (3) of Part 21 of the maritime rules to ensure that either:

(a) a valid Interim Safety Management Certificate; or
(b) a valid Safety Management Certificate

is for the time being in force in respect of the ship, provided that the ship does not operate outside of New Zealand territorial waters.

This exemption expires on 31 May 2003.
