Reappointment/appointments to the Engineers Registration Board

Pursuant to section 3 of the Engineers Registration Act 1924, the Minister of Commerce has been pleased to reappoint

Jennifer Ann Culliford, of Auckland

to be the chairperson of the Engineers Registration Board for a period commencing on 1 April 2003 and expiring on 31 December 2003;

and to appoint

Robert Martin Hodgson, of Palmerston North
Poiha Kemp Broughton, of Stratford
David John Bunting, of Wellington
Stephen Reindler, of Auckland
Keith Sharman Turner, of Wellington

to be members of the Engineers Board for a period commencing on 1 April 2003 and expiring on 31 December 2003.

Dissolution of Board of Trustees and Appointment of a Commissioner at Waikohu College (207)

Pursuant to section 78N (3) of the Education Act 1989, I hereby dissolve the board of Waikohu College and appoint a commissioner for the school.

All functions, powers and duties of the board of Waikohu College are to be vested in the commissioner.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of its publication.

Notice of Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager at Russell School (2983)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager for Russell School because of risks to the operation of the school and the educational performance of the students at the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:

• Managing all personnel issues;
• conducting the performance appraisal of the principal and staff;
• resolving any outstanding complaints relating to personnel issues;
• reviewing and implementing necessary changes to all personnel policies; and
• managing staff relationships.

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the following matters:

• Establishing effective operational procedures for the board of trustees; and
• developing and implementing strategies to manage relationships between staff and the principal.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.

Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12 (1) (d) (ii) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 27 January 2003, which was granted under those Regulations to Rosa Elisa Contreras-Henriquez in respect of Small World Montessori Baby Centre (40248), situated at 24 Aorangi Street, Feilding.
