Unclaimed Property

Notice of Election to Manage Property

Pursuant to section 101 (1) of the Public Trust Act 2001, Public Trust hereby gives notice that:

(a) Arowhana Station Limited, a duly incorporated company which was struck off the Register of Companies on the 3rd day of October 1983, is the owner of the property described in the Schedule hereto.

(b) Public Trust elects to become manager of the property, it being satisfied that it is advisable in terms of section 101 (1) of the above Act.

Schedule

The quarry metals situated in, upon or under a site being that part of the land known as Arowhana Quarry, comprising 34.74 hectares, being Lot 4, Deposit Plan 8162, and being part of certificate of title GS3D/355 (Gisborne Registry).

Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988

Initiation of Dumping Investigation: Galvanised Wire From China and Malaysia

Notice is hereby given that, acting pursuant to section 10 (1) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988, and under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Economic Development, I have initiated an investigation to determine both the existence and effect of the alleged dumping of the goods described in the Schedule to this notice originating from China and Malaysia, being satisfied that sufficient evidence has been provided that:

(a) the goods imported or intended to be imported into New Zealand are being dumped; and

(b) by reason thereof, material injury to an industry is being threatened,

and also being satisfied that the collective output of those New Zealand producers who have, in writing, expressed support for the application constitutes:

(a) 25 percent or more of total New Zealand production of like goods produced for domestic consumption (assessed during the most recent representative period, being not less than 6 months); and

(b) more than 50 percent of the total production of like goods produced for domestic consumption (as so assessed) by those New Zealand producers who have, in writing, expressed support for or opposition to the application.

“Galvanised steel wire of high, medium and low tensile strength between (and including) 2mm and 4.5mm in diameter.”

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item 7217.20.10 and Statistical Keys 05L, 07G, 08E, 09C, 11E, 13A, 15H, 16F, 17D, 18B, 25E, 27A, 28K, 29H, 31K, 33F, 35B, 36L, 37J and 39E, and Tariff Item 7217.20.90 and Statistical Keys 05D, 07L, 08J, 09G, 11J, 13E, 15A, 16K, 17H and 18F of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.
