Amendment to Transit New Zealand Bylaw 2003/11:
Bylaw Regulating the Speed of Vehicles on State Highways: Transit New Zealand Regions 13 and 14

Pursuant to section 61 (3) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, and section 72 (1) (j) of the Transport Act 1962, Transit New Zealand hereby amends the above bylaw as follows.

Amendment

  1. This amendment shall come into force 28 days after its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. In the Third Schedule after clause 9 (c) insert:

At Garston, from a point 540 metres generally north of The Terrace (north) to a point 30 metres generally south of The Terrace (south) (Route Position 1046/6.73 to Route Position 1046/7.64); a distance of 910 metres.

This amendment is made by delegated authority from the Transit New Zealand Authority.

Conservation Act 1987

Declaring Specially Protected Area

Under the Conservation Act, the Minister of Conservation declares that the land described in the Schedule is held for the purposes of an ecological area and shall be managed as part of the Greenstone Ecological Area.

Westland Land District—Grey District
21.2460 hectares, being Rural Section 1874.

Explanatory Note

Ecological areas are held for conservation purposes to protect indigenous intrinsic natural values and resources, ecological and evolutionary systems and, in particular, to protect values of scientific interest. Protected area status for this land will improve the viability of the Greenstone Ecological Area, protected for its podocarp/beech forest.

Land Set Apart for Road—Halcome Road, Manawatu District

Pursuant to sections 20 (1) and 52 of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Roger Kenneth McLeod, Land Information New Zealand, declares that, pursuant to an agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule to this notice is hereby set apart as road and is vested in the Manawatu District Council on the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.

Pursuant to section 20 (1) of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Ronald Alistair Jolly, Land Information New Zealand, declares that, an agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule to this notice is acquired for road which, pursuant to section 60 (2) of the Transit New Zealand Act 1989, forms part of State Highway No. 38 and shall vest in the Crown on the date of publication of this notice in the New Zealand Gazette.
