University of Otago

Notice of Application to Vary Terms of a Charitable Trust

Take notice that on the 9th day of September 2002 at 10.00 a.m., the University of Otago will move the High Court at Dunedin for an order approving the resettlement of the assets of the existing Medical Students’ Loans Fund on a proposed new fund to be called the Medical Students’ Assistance Fund.

The application is being made on the grounds that it is impracticable or inexpedient for the university to carry out the purposes of the existing fund.

The terms of the existing fund allow only the making of hardship loans to a limited class of students of the faculty of medicine of the University of Otago.

The terms of the proposed new fund would broaden the trustees’ powers to allow them to make hardship grants to a wider range of students of the faculty.

Any person desiring to oppose the scheme shall give written notice of his or her intention to do so to the Registrar of the High Court, Private Bag 1925, Dunedin, and to the Trustees of the Medical Students’ Loans Fund, care of Gallaway Cook Allan, P.O. Box 143, Dunedin, and to the Attorney-General, Crown Law Office, P.O. Box 5012, Wellington, not less than seven clear days before the 9th day of September 2002.

Licences Issued and Revoked Under the Animal Remedies Act 1967 (Notice No. 1236; Ag. 154) and the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997

Pursuant to section 21 (6) of the Animal Remedies Act 1967 and section 93 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, the Registrar of the Animal Remedies Board hereby gives notice that the licences listed in Schedules I and II have been issued as follows:

1. The licences for remedies listed in Schedule I are new licences issued.
2. The licences for remedies listed in Schedule II are new licences issued which have been declared to be Prescription Animal Remedies Class I; and may be administered to an animal only:
   (i) by a veterinary surgeon; or
   (ii) under and in accordance with the authority or prescription of a veterinary surgeon.

Pursuant to section 28 (3) of the Animal Remedies Act 1967 and section 107 of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, the Programme Manager (Standards) (acting under delegated authority from the Executive Director of New Zealand Food Safety Authority) hereby gives notice that the licences listed in Schedule III have been revoked.
