Revocation of Ranfurly as a Place at Which a District Court May be Held for the Exercise of Criminal Jurisdiction

Pursuant to section 4 (5) of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General has:

(a) revoked, with effect from the close of 31 July 2002, the appointment* of Ranfurly as a place in which a District Court may be held for the exercise of criminal jurisdiction; and

(b) consequentially revoked, with effect from the close of 31 July 2002, the authorisation* of the District Court held in Ranfurly to deal with matters arising under the Destitute Persons Act 1910 and the Imprisonment for Debt Limitation Act 1908.

Whereas the District Court held in Ranfurly has been abolished with effect from the close of 31 July 2002:

Now therefore, I, Matthew Peter Robson, Minister for Courts, acting pursuant to section 70 (1) of the District Courts Act 1947, hereby direct that the records of the District Court held in Ranfurly be delivered to the Registrar of the District Court held in Alexandra.

Revocation of Lumsden as a Place at Which a District Court May be Held for the Exercise of Criminal Jurisdiction

Pursuant to section 4 (5) of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General has:
