Cobb Reservoir. All year
Conway River. All year
Lake Rotoiti. All year
Lake Rotoroa. All year
Lyell Creek (Kaikoura) downstream from State Highway No. 1. All year
Maitai River below the Lower Nile Street Bridge. All year
Maruia River downstream of Maruia Falls. All year
Matakitaki River downstream from the State Highway No. 6 Bridge. All year
Middle Creek (Kaikoura) downstream from State Highway No. 1. All year
Motueka River downstream from the Peninsular Road Bridge at Ngatimoti. All year
Oaro River. All year
Opawa River downstream from State Highway No. 1 Bridge (including Roses Overflow). All year
Pelorus River downstream from its confluence with the Rai River. All year
Takaka River downstream from its confluence with the Waingaro River. All year
Taylor River downstream from the New Renwick Road bridge. All year
Waimea or Wairoa Rivers downstream of the Lee River confluence. All year
Wairau River (including the Diversion) downstream from the Wash Bridge. All year
All other waters of the region, except those specified in this schedule. 1 Oct – 30 Apr
  1. CLOSED WATERS

No licence holder shall take:

3.1 Salmon in the Wairau River and its tributaries lying upstream of the Wash Bridge or in the Acheron River and its tributaries lying upstream of the Severn confluence or in the Clarence River and its tributaries lying upstream of the Styx confluence.

3.2 Sports fish from Lake Rotoiti or Lake Rotoroa, between 1 May and 30 September, within 100m from the centre of the meeting line with the lakes, of the following rivers and streams:

  • Black Valley Stream.
  • Buller River.
  • Coldwater Stream.
