- OPEN SEASON
2.1 The following waters are open all year:
- Huatoki Stream downstream from Brois Street bridge.
- Lake Mangamahoe, excluding the Waiwhakaiho inlet.
- Lake Namunamu.
- Lake Ngangana.
- Lake Rotomanu.
- Mangawhero River (excluding tributaries) downstream from the “golf course” bridge at State Highway No. 49.
- Opunake Lake.
- Patea River downstream from Patea Dam.
- Retaruke River and tributaries downstream of Oio Road bridge.
- Stony (Hangatahua) River, Warea River, Kapoaiaia Stream, Waiaua River, Mangahume Stream, Kaupokonui Stream, Waingongoro River – all downstream from the State Highway No. 45 bridges.
- Tokiahuru Stream downstream from the bridge at State Highway No. 49.
- Virginia Lake.
- Waitaiki Stream downstream from the bridge at State Highway No. 49.
- Waitara River downstream from the Manganui River confluence.
- Waiwhakaiho River downstream from the end of Rimu Street extension.
- Whanganui River (excluding tributaries).
2.2 The following waters are open from 1 October – 30 June:
- Manganuioteao River, excluding the Orautoha and Waimarino Stream tributaries.
- Raetihi Hydro Dam.
- Tokiahuru Stream upstream from the bridge at State Highway No. 49.
- Waitaiki Stream upstream from the bridge at State Highway No. 49.
2.3 The following waters are open from 1 October – 30 April and then from 1 June – 30 September:
- Lahar Lake.
- Lake Ratapiko, except the inlet race.
- Lake Rotorangi from the dam face to the Mangamingi ramp.
2.4 The following waters are open from 1 October – 20 April and then from 10 July – 30 September:
- Lake Pauri.
- Lake Wiritoa.
