Election Notice

Acting with authority delegated by the Minister of Education, under section 101 (7) of the Education Act 1989, I approve Friday, 23 August 2002, as the closing date for voting in the first elections of parent representatives and a staff representative for the board of trustees of St Pauls School, Massey.

I also approve 5 September 2002, as the date of the first board of trustees meeting.

This notice shall take effect the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Notice for Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager at St Teresa’s Primary School, Bluff (4021)

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I hereby direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager to St Teresa’s Primary School, Bluff (4021), because of risks to the educational achievement of the students at the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:

  • monitoring and assessment of employee performance.

The limited statutory manager must also advise the board on the:

  • development of a strategic plan which documents how the board is giving effect to the national educational guidelines;
  • development and maintenance of an ongoing programme of self review.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.

Kelston Deaf Education Centre Amendment Notice 2002

Pursuant to section 95 of the Education Act 1989, the Minister of Education gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Kelston Deaf Education Centre Amendment Notice 2002 and shall take effect on the day after the date of notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

  2. The Kelston Deaf Education Centre Board of Trustees shall be constituted as follows:

  • The principal of Kelston Deaf Education Centre;
  • one staff member elected by and from the staff of Kelston Deaf Education Centre;
  • five persons elected by the parents of students enrolled at Kelston Deaf Education Centre or resident in the school’s boarding facilities;
  • one student representative elected by and from students at the school in year 10 and above; and
  • up to four members co-opted by the board itself.
  1. The Kelston Deaf Education Centre Board of Trustees Notice 2001, dated the 28th day of August 2001 and published in the New Zealand Gazette, 6 September 2001, No. 119, page 3100, is hereby revoked.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Supplementary Integration Agreements

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that supplementary integration agreements have been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Senior Manager, National Operations, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietors of the following schools:

  • St Mary’s School, Hokitika.
  • Sacred Heart School, Reefton.

The said supplementary integration agreements were executed on 26 June 2002.

Copies of the supplementary integration agreements are available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the regional office of the Ministry of Education, 123 Victoria Street, Christchurch.
