Cancellation of Licence for an Early Childhood Centre

Pursuant to Regulation 12 (1) (i) of the Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1998, and acting under authority delegated by the Secretary for Education, I hereby cancel the licence dated 12 June 2000, which was granted under those Regulations to Peter Douglas, on behalf of the whanau, in respect of Te Herenga Waka Te Kohanga Reo (64017), situated at 65 Fairlie Terrace, Wellington.

This notice shall take effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Fisheries

Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998

Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 9 ) 2002 (No. F218)

Pursuant to Regulation 9 (2) of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998, a Senior Fisheries Management Advisor, Ministry of Fisheries (acting pursuant to a delegated authority in accordance with section 41 of the State Sector Act 1988), hereby gives the following notice.

Notice

1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Notice (No. 9) 2002.

(2) This notice shall come into effect the day after the date of its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

2. Interpretation—In this notice:

(a) The term “mahi kaimoana” are local dialect words that have the same meaning as “customary food gathering”, a term that is defined in the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998.

(b) The term “Kaitieki” is a local dialect word that has the same meaning as “Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki”, a term that is defined in the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998.

(c) Any reference to Kaitieki means the person or persons appointed under Regulation 9 of the Fisheries (Kaimoana Customary Fishing) Regulations 1998 as Tangata Kaitiaki/Tiaki for mahi kaimoana within the area/rohe moana and confirmed in clause 3 of this notice.

(d) Any reference to area/rohe moana means the area beginning on the coastline approximately 2 kilometres south-west of East Cape (37° 42.2′ S 178° 32.5′ E), then generally east to a point beyond the Ranfurly Bank (37° 38.3′ S, 179° 00.0′ E), then generally north to a point (37° 31.5′ S, 179° 00.0′ E), then generally west to a point (37° 33.1′ S, 176° 28.4′ E) in line with Matakaoa Point, then generally south-west to the mouth of the Awatere River (37° 38.0′ S, 178° 22.6′ E), then generally south-east following the coastline to the point of commencement (derived from WGS84 datum).

3. Appointment of Kaitieki—The Associate Minister of Fisheries (acting pursuant to a delegated authority) hereby confirms the appointment of the Matahi-o-te-Tau Marae trustees and committee members for managing mahi kaimoana within the area/rohe moana.

4. Confirmation of tangata whenua—Te Whanau-a-Hunaara is confirmed as the tangata whenua of the area/rohe moana to which the appointment of Kaitieki relates.
