Civil Aviation Act 1990
Notice of Variation of a Scheduled International Air Service Licence
Pursuant to the Civil Aviation Act 1990, the State Sector Act 1988, and a delegation from the Secretary for Transport dated 29 March 2000, I, John Gibson Bradbury, Deputy Secretary Air Services in the Ministry of Transport, hereby advise that I have exercised the power conferred by section 87Q of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, to vary the conditions of the Scheduled International Air Service Licence issued to Thai Airways International to authorise the airline to operate, using any aircraft type, 10 return services per week between Thailand and New Zealand.
This variation took effect on 14 May 2002.

Pursuant to section 35 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of Emergency Rule 2/EMY/1, set out in the schedule hereto, which comes into effect immediately.

Pursuant to section 31 of the Civil Aviation Act, the Director signed Emergency Rule 2/EMY/1 on 13 May 2002.
The emergency rules take precedence over the requirements prescribed in rules 91.313 (VFR cruising altitude and flight level) and 91.425 (IFR cruising altitude or flight level) and allow the implementation of reduced vertical separation mandatory (RVSM) airspace in the New Zealand Flight Information Region.
