Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993

Interim Restriction Order

Pursuant to section 67 of the Films, Videos, and Publications Classification Act 1993, Justice Hammond, in the High Court at Wellington, hereby makes the following interim restriction order:

An interim restriction order is made in respect of the showing of the video or film Baise-Moi pending the hearing and determination of an appeal against the decision of the Film and Literature Board of Review.

Pursuant to section 69 of the Act, this order shall remain in force only until the appeal is heard and determined or one of the factors in section 69 (2) of the Act is activated.

Acting District Court Judge Appointed

Pursuant to section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Administrator of the Government has been pleased to appoint

Carolyn Henwood, District Court Judge, to retire on 21 June 2002

to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix, pursuant to the said section 10A of the District Courts Act 1947, for a term of two years on and from 22 June 2002.

John Russell Callander, retired District Court Judge

to be an Acting District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction in New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947, at such place or places and for such period or periods only as the Chief District Court Judge may fix.
