Land Acquired for a Scenic Reserve—294 Mairehau Road, Christchurch City

Pursuant to section 20 (1) of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, Ronald Alistair Jolly, Land Information New Zealand, declares that, an agreement to that effect having been entered into, the land described in the Schedule to this notice is hereby acquired for a scenic reserve, subject to the Reserves Act 1977, the water drainage easement in gross created by transfer 743106, section 243 (a) of the Resource Management Act 1991, section 3 of the Petroleum Act 1937, section 8 of the Atomic Energy Act 1945, section 3 of the Geothermal Energy Act 1953, sections 6 and 8 of the Mining Act 1971, and sections 5 and 261 of the Coal Mines Act 1979, and shall vest in the Christchurch City Council on the date of publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Reserves Act 1977

Classification of Reserve and Vesting in the Queenstown Lakes District Council

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Community Relations Manager for the Otago Conservancy of the Department of Conservation classifies the reserve described in the Schedule as a recreation reserve and vests the reserve in the Queenstown Lakes District Council in trust for that purpose.

Setting Apart Māori Freehold Land as a Māori Reservation

Pursuant to section 338 (1) of Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, on the recommendation of the Māori Land Court, the Māori freehold land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby set apart as a Māori reservation for the purpose of an urupa, recreation ground, papakainga and place of cultural and scenic importance to be known as Oteaka for the common use and benefit of the owners of Lot 3, D.P. 108084 and being part Whangaruru Whakaturia No. 4 and their descendants.
