No person shall have in possession on any one day, more than:
Saturday 4 May 2002: The number of game birds specified as the daily bag limit for the Fish and Game Region in which the game is taken.
Sunday 5 May 2002: Twice the number of game birds specified for Saturday 4 May 2002.
Every subsequent day: The number of game birds specified as the daily bag limit for the Fish and Game Region in which the game is taken.
Waiver of Restrictions on Baiting, and Methods of Taking Game Baiting for Waterfowl
Persons[^4] may hunt or kill game of the family Anatidae (waterfowl) during the open season for game in all Fish and Game Regions where food has been cast, thrown, placed or planted, either during the current open season for game, the thirty (30) days immediately prior to the season or any other time during the year.
Magazine Shotguns – unpinned magazine shotguns can be used in all regions
Persons[^5] may hunt or kill game birds, as specified, in all Fish and Game Regions with any shotgun of a calibre 12 gauge or less, of any type not adjusted in accordance with regulations made under the Act, and capable of holding more than one shell.
Camouflaged Rowboats
Persons[^6] may hunt or kill game within the following Fish and Game Regions, from unmoored camouflaged rowboats, subject to the conditions specified below.
Fish and Game Regions of:
- Northland
- Nelson/Marlborough
- Otago
- Southland
- Taranaki
- West Coast
- Eastern – excluding 4 and 5 May 2002
- Wellington – excluding 4 and 5 May 2002
- Central South Island – excluding 4 and 5 May 2002
- North Canterbury – excluding 4 to 12 May 2002
- Hawkes Bay – excluding 4 to 12 May 2002
Pegging Day
- A person, following purchase of a 2002/2003 Whole Season game bird hunting licence, can reclaim the stand claimed during the 2001 Game Season at any time prior to 10.00 a.m. on 7 April 2002 in all Fish and Game Regions.
