District Court Judges Appointed
Pursuant to sections 5 and 28B of the District Courts Act 1947, Her Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint
Ajit Swaran Singh, barrister and notary public of Auckland
to be a District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947 with effect from 4 November 2002;
and to appoint
Anne Elizabeth Kiernan, solicitor of Auckland
to be a District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, and to exercise the criminal jurisdiction of the District Courts under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947 with effect from 5 November 2002.

Family Court Judge Appointed

as a District Court Judge, to exercise civil and criminal jurisdiction within New Zealand, and to exercise the jurisdiction of the Family Courts with effect from 22 November 2002.

Customs and Excise Act 1996
Customs (Inward Report) Amendment Rules 2002
Pursuant to sections 288 (1) (a) and (12) of the Customs and Excise Act 1996, the Chief Executive hereby makes the rules prescribing the form for the making of inward reports in respect of aircraft and amends the Customs (Inward Report) Rules 1996.
- Title—(1) These rules are the Customs (Inward Report) Amendment Rules 2002.
(2) In these rules, the Customs (Inward Report) Rules 1996 are called “the principal rules”. (CR 1A/1996)

Commencement—These rules come into force on the 28th day after the date of their publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

Rule 3 and Schedule Amended—(1) The Schedule to the principal rules is amended by revoking form C1A and substituting form C1A set out in the Schedule of these rules.
(2) Except to the extent amended by these rules, the principal rules shall remain in force.
- Status of Rules—These rules are Regulations for the purposes of the Regulations (Disallowance) Act 1989.
