Description of Goods

Galvanised steel wire of high, medium and low tensile strength between 2mm and 4.5mm in diameter.

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item 7217.20.10 and Statistical Keys 05L, 07G, 08E, 09C, 11E, 13A, 15H, 16F, 17D, 18B, 25E, 27A, 28K, 29H, 31K, 33F, 35B, 36L, 37J and 39E, and Tariff Item 7217.20.90 and Statistical Keys 05D, 07L, 08J, 09G, 11J, 13E, 15A, 16K, 17H and 18F of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

Second Schedule

Amount of Anti-dumping Duty to be Secured

The rate of anti-dumping duty to be secured in respect of the subject goods, imported or intended to be imported into New Zealand from South Africa from the suppliers listed below, shall be the rate specified below in respect of that supplier calculated as a percentage of the declared value for duty of the subject goods:

  • Cape Gate Export Dvn (Pty) Limited: 33%
  • Consolidated Wire Industries (Pty) Limited: 27%
  • Independent Galvanising (Pty) Limited: 10%
  • Other suppliers (Except African Gabions (Pty) Limited and Finmesa Investment Corporation): 33%

Initiation of Dumping Investigation: Glass Wool Insulation From Taiwan

Notice is hereby given that, acting pursuant to section 10 (1) of the Dumping and Countervailing Duties Act 1988 and under delegated authority from the Chief Executive of the Ministry of Economic Development, I have initiated an investigation to determine both the existence and effect of the alleged dumping of the goods described in the Schedule to this notice originating from Taiwan, being satisfied that sufficient evidence has been provided that:

(a) the goods imported or intended to be imported into New Zealand are being dumped; and

(b) by reason thereof, material injury is being caused to a New Zealand industry producing like goods,

and also being satisfied that the collective output of those New Zealand producers who have, in writing, expressed support for the application constitutes:

(a) 25 per cent or more of the total New Zealand production of like goods produced for domestic consumption (assessed during the most recent representative period, being not less than six months); and

(b) more than 50 per cent of the total production of like goods produced for domestic consumption (as so assessed) by those New Zealand producers who have, in writing, expressed support for or opposition to the application.

The goods are currently classified under Tariff Item 7019.39.00 and Statistical Key 01L of the Tariff of New Zealand, which classification is provided for convenience and Customs purposes only, the written description being dispositive.

Notice of Appointment of a Commissioner at Waimokoia Residential School (1551)

Pursuant to section 78N (3) of the Education Act 1989, I hereby dissolve the board of Waimokoia Residential School (1551) and appoint a commissioner to the school.

All functions, powers and duties of the board of Waimokoia Residential School are to be vested in the commissioner.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of its publication.
