Injury Prevention, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2001

ACC Board Recommendations on the Subsequent Consultation on Proposed 2002/03 Self-employed Work Account Levy Regulations

In October 2001, ACC consulted on the extra Regulations
for the 2002/03 Self-employed Work Account.
ACC has recommended to the Minister for Accident
Insurance the following Regulations for ACC CoverPlus
Extra for the 2002/03 year.
ACC recommends introducing:

• A lower level of weekly compensation option under
  ACC CoverPlus Extra policies based on capacity to
  work. This is a lower priced cover option.
• The ability of non-PAYE shareholder employees to
  purchase ACC CoverPlus Extra as if they were
  self-employed.

ACC’s recommendations are not binding on the Minister
who can accept, reject or modify the corporation’s
recommendations.
