The St Anthony’s Catholic School, Huntly, Board of Trustees Parent Election Extension Notice

Pursuant to clause 9 (2) of the Sixth Schedule to the Education Act 1989, and acting with delegated authority by the Minister of Education, I hereby extend the period for closing the poll and all subsequent actions in accordance with the Education (School Trustee Elections) Regulations 2000 for the election of three parent representatives for the St Anthony’s Catholic School Board of Trustees.

The election day will be 4 November 2002.

This notice takes effect the day after its notification in the New Zealand Gazette.

Notice of Appointment of a Limited Statutory Manager at Waikari School

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager to Waikari School because of risks to the operation of the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:

• Personnel management, including performance management and appraisal of staff.

The limited statutory manager must also provide advice for the board on the following:

• Any matters arising from the above issues;
• all matters pertinent to their resolution; and
• board/community relations.

The following condition applies to the exercising of the powers of the board and the limited statutory manager:

• The powers of the limited statutory manager shall be exercised in consultation with the board.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.

Pursuant to section 78M of the Education Act 1989, I direct the Secretary for Education to appoint a limited statutory manager to Te Wharekura O Arowhenua because of risks to the operation of the school.

The following functions, powers and duties of the board are vested in the limited statutory manager:

• Financial management;
• oversight of the rationalisation of the school’s property; and
• oversight of a review of the school’s human resource needs.

The following condition applies to the exercising of the powers of the board and the limited statutory manager:

• The powers of the limited statutory manager shall be exercised in consultation with the board.

This notice takes effect the day after the date of publication of this notice.
