Notice of Application to Register a Trade Name Product Agriculture Notice No. 1240

Pursuant to section 14 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines Act 1997, the Director-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry hereby gives notice that the following application has been made to register a trade name product under section 9 (1) of the Agricultural Compounds and Veterinary Medicines (ACVM) Act 1997:

Active Ingredient and Concentration:
Ivermectin 16g/L

General Use Claim:
For the oral treatment and control of ivermectin sensitive strains of internal parasites (including benzimidazole and levamisole resistant strains), nasal bot and itchmite in sheep.

Any person may make a written submission to the Director-General under section 17 of the ACVM Act 1997 concerning the application notified above. Such submissions:

(a) must state in full the reasons for making the submission; and

(b) may state any decision sought on that application; and

(c) must be received by the Director-General no later than 30 working days after the date of notification in this New Zealand Gazette; and

(d) should be forwarded to the address given below.

A copy of every submission will be forwarded to the applicant for their information.

A copy of the public information on the application may be obtained from ACVM Group, New Zealand Food Safety Authority, P.O. Box 2835, Wellington, or on the web site at www.nzfsa.govt.nz/acvm/

Meat (Residues) Regulations 1996

Exemption From the Requirements in Relation to Stock and Farmed Deer Presented for Slaughter Notice No. 1239

Pursuant to Regulations 4 (11) and 8 (1), and under the authority vested in Regulation 8 (4), the following exemption applies to Regulation 8 subclause (1) and Regulation 4 subclause (11) of the Meat (Residues) Regulations 1996:

“For the purposes of section 7A of the Act, the maximum permissible level at which a substance may be present in any stock or farmed deer to which Regulation 8 subclause (1) applies, being a substance that is alpha and beta hexachlorocyclohexane (HCCH) is 0.1 parts per million.”
