All other waters in the region are open from 1 October - 30 April.

  1. AUTHORISED TACKLE

3.1
No licence holder shall use any double or treble pointed hook, or any multiple hook assembly.

  1. FLY FISHING ONLY WATERS

4.1
The following waters are restricted to fly fishing only:
Lake Mangamahoe, including the Waiwhakaiho inlet.

  1. ARTIFICIAL FLY AND SPINNER ONLY WATERS

5.1
The following waters are restricted to artificial fly and spinner only:
Mangaoraka Stream from the bridge at Te Arei Road West upstream to the bridge at Corbett Road;
Kaiauai Stream upstream of the bridge at Alfred Road;
Kapuni Stream upstream from the bridge at Skeet Road;
Stony River from its source to the sea.

  1. DAILY LIMIT BAG

6.1
Catch and Release Only
All sports fish caught in the following waters must be released immediately back into the waters from which they were taken with as little injury as possible:

Mangaoraka Stream from the bridge at Te Arei Road West upstream to the bridge at Corbett Road;
Kaiauai Stream upstream of the bridge at Alfred Road;
Kapuni Stream upstream from the bridge at Skeet Road.

6.2
Stony (Hangatahua) River Special Regulations

6.2.1
Catch and Release for brown trout. All brown trout caught must be released immediately back into the Stony River with as little injury as possible;

6.2.2
No licence holder shall on any day kill or be in possession of more than two (2) rainbow trout.

6.3
No licence holder shall on any day kill more than two (2) sports fish, other than perch, from the following waters:
Virginia Lake;
Lake Ngangana;
Lake Wiritoa;
Lake Namanamu;
Raetihi Hydro Dam;
Lahar Lake;
Manganuioteao River and its tributaries;
All waters originating on the slopes of Mount Egmont/Taranaki, including
