- The Whakatane River downstream of the Owaka Stream
confluence; All year - The Waimana River downstream of the Reid Road bridge; All year
- The Wairoa River downstream of the Te Reinga Falls; All year
- The Waikaretaheke River downstream of the Piripaua
Powerhouse; All year - The Rangitaiki River downstream of the Otamataea Stream
confluence, excluding the 80m below the Aniwhenua Barrage; All year - Lakes Matahina, Flaxy, and Aniwhenua; All year
- The Aniwhenua, Flaxy and Rangitaiki (Wheao) canals, including
the Wheao River downstream of the powerhouse; All year - Lakes Waikaremoana and Waikareiti; All year
- Lake McLaren and the Ruahihi Canal; All year
- The Wairoa River below Lake McLaren; All year
- The Wairau River downstream of the Waikaretaheke River

- Those waters flowing into Lake Rotorua (excluding those sections
specified above and closed waters) and Lake Waikaremoana; 1 December to 30 June - The waters between landmarks approximately 150m downstream
of the Lake Tarawera Outlet and the Tarawera Falls; 1 October to 31 May - All other waters except Closed Season Waters; 1 October to 30 June
3. CLOSED SEASON
No licence holder shall fish for sports fish at any time from the following waters;
3.1 all streams flowing into Lake Tarawera and that portion of the Tarawera River
enclosed by landmarks at the Lake Tarawera Outlet and extending
approximately 150m downstream to landmarks in the river, otherwise known
as the Tarawera Outlet Spawning Sanctuary;
3.2 the Utuhina Stream above the Pukehangi Road bridge and all tributaries of this
stream;
3.3 the following streams and their tributaries which flow into Lake Rotorua;
a) the Waiowhiro, Waiohewa, Waingaehe, Waimata and Waikuta Streams;
b) the Hamurana stream above the Hamurana Road bridge;
c) the Awahou Stream above the Hamurana Road bridge;
