Employment Relations Act 2000
Department of Labour, Employment Relations Service—Employment Relations Education Leave: Approved Courses
Under section 72 (3) of the Employment Relations Act 2000, the Minister of Labour has delegated the power to approve courses for Employment Relations Education Leave to the Employment Relations Education Advisory Committee.
The effect of this is that under section 73 of the Employment Relations Act 2000, a union is entitled to allocate employment relations education leave to eligible employees, in accordance with sections 74 to 77 of the Act, to attend these courses.
The Employment Relations Education Advisory Committee has approved the following courses:

Appointment of Member of the Higher Salaries Commission
Pursuant to sections 5 and 6 of the Higher Salaries Commission Act 1977, Her Excellency the Governor-General has appointed
Beverley Anne Wakem of Wellington to be a Member of the Higher Salaries Commission for the period commencing on 22 May 2001 and ceasing on 21 May 2004.

Notice of Order Striking Off Practitioner’s Name From Roll

In the matter of the Law Practitioners Act 1982
Pursuant to section 119 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982, notice is hereby given that on 26 February 2001, the New Zealand Law Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal ordered as follows:

That the name of John Andrew Tannahill be struck off the Roll of Barristers and Solicitors of the High Court of New Zealand.

That John Andrew Tannahill not be ordered to pay any amount:
- (a) by way of costs of and incidental to the inquiry by the tribunal, or the inquiry by the district council and the complaints committee; or
- (b) by way of expenses of the investigation carried out.

That John Andrew Tannahill not be ordered to pay any amount by way of monetary penalty or fine.

Permanent suppression orders be made suppressing the names of John Andrew Tannahill’s clients, former firm and former partner.

No order be made giving the sanction of the tribunal, under section 66 (1) (b) of the Law Practitioners Act, to allow the practitioner to be employed as a solicitor’s clerk, but leave is reserved for him to make another application if and when he has details available of proposed employment.
