Order for Confiscation of Motor Vehicle

Pursuant to Section 84 of the Criminal Justice Act 1985
On 24 April 2001 at the District Court at Opotiki, an order
was made against Barry John Toopi, to confiscate a
1987 Subaru GTXI motor vehicle, registration
No. NI 8535.
Anyone who has a legal interest in this vehicle should
contact the Registrar at the Court urgently as the Registrar
may sell the vehicle.
This notice is placed pursuant to the Criminal Justice
Act 1985.

Pursuant to Section 84 of the Criminal Justice Act 1985
On 2 May 2001 at the District Court at Tauranga,
Steven John Hunter was convicted of the following
offence – dangerous driving – and in addition to the
sentence imposed on him, the Court has ordered that a
Ford Fairmont GHI motor vehicle, registration
No. ZE 4052
owned by the above-mentioned defendant, be forfeited to
Her Majesty, pursuant to section 84 (4) of the Criminal
Justice Act 1985.

Homai National School for the Blind and Vision Impaired
(formerly named Homai Vision Education Centre)

Pursuant to section 95 of the Education Act 1989, the
Minister of Education gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Homai National
    School for the Blind and Vision Impaired Notice 2001. This
    notice shall take effect on the day after the date of
    notification in the New Zealand Gazette.
  2. The Homai National School for the Blind and Vision
    Impaired Board of Trustees shall be constituted as follows:
  • The principal of Homai National School for the Blind and Vision Impaired.
  • Two representatives nominated by the Royal New Zealand Foundation for the Blind and appointed by the Minister of Education.
  • One representative nominated by the Association for Blind Citizens of New Zealand Incorporated and appointed by the Minister of Education.
  • One staff member elected by and from the staff of the school.
  • Four persons elected by parents of students enrolled full-time at Homai National School for the Blind and Vision Impaired.
  • One student representative elected by students enrolled full-time at the school in year 9 and above.
  • Up to three members co-opted by the board.
  1. The Homai Vision Education Centre Board of Trustees Notice 2000 published in the New Zealand Gazette (Supplement), 7 April 2000, No. 36, page 815, is hereby revoked.

The Health and Safety Code of Practice for State Integrated Primary, Secondary and Composite Schools

Pursuant to section 70 of the Education Act 1989 and to a
delegation from the Secretary of Education, I hereby give
the following notice.

Notice
The Secretary for Education has specified the terms and
conditions for health and safety requirements which apply to
the land and buildings occupied by the boards of trustees of
all State schools integrated pursuant to the provisions of the
Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975.

Those terms and conditions are called The Health and
Safety Code of Practice for State Integrated Primary,
Secondary and Composite Schools
, pursuant to sections
70 (1) and (1A) of the Education Act 1989.

The boards of all State integrated schools will be notified of
the Code.

An indemnity for all costs arising from any prosecution,
conviction and fines under the Health and Safety in
Employment Act 1992 is included in the Code provided
boards of trustees observe the conditions set out under the
indemnity clause in Part 6 of the Code.

This notice comes into force on 1 June 2001.
