18.6 Grants may not be made under clause 18.2 for more than a period of 1 year or the appropriate period approved by the Minister, whichever is the lesser.
18.6A Grants may not be made under clause 18.3A for a period of more than 2 years.
18.7 If the Minister has extended the application of this Part in relation to a district, region, or an area for a further period, on application made by the Farmer the chief executive may, in his or her discretion, make Grants under this Part for up to that extended period if, after conducting a review of the Farmer’s circumstances, the chief executive considers the personal circumstances of the Farmer justify such Grants being made.
18.8 The maximum amount of Grants under this Part are–
To a married person with one dependent child
75 per cent of the applicable rate of community wage diminished by $1 a week for every $1 a week of that person’s income.
To a married person with 2 or more dependent children
75 per cent of the applicable rate of community wage diminished by $1 a week for every $1 a week of that person’s income.
To a married person without dependent children
75 per cent of the applicable rate of community wage diminished by $1 a week for every $1 a week of that person’s income.
To a sole parent with one dependent child
75 per cent of the applicable rate of community wage diminished by $1 a week for every $1 a week of that person’s income.
To a sole parent with 2 or more dependent children
75 per cent of the applicable rate of community wage diminished by $1 a week for every $1 a week of that person’s income.
To an unmarried person with no dependent children
75 per cent of the applicable rate of community wage diminished by $1 a week for every $1 a week of that person’s income.

Special Transfer Allowance Amendment 2001
Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment establishes and approves the following Amendment to the Special Transfer Allowance programme (as established and approved on 13 November 2000).

Amendment
- Title—(1) This is the Special Transfer Allowance Amendment 2001.
(2) In this Amendment the Special Transfer Allowance Programme 2000 is called “the programme”.

Commencement—This Amendment comes into effect on 1 April 2001.

Amending Average Regional Rentals—The Schedule of the programme is amended by omitting the figures “138”, “117” and “153”, and substituting the figures “139”, “118” and “152” respectively.
Explanatory Note:
This note is not part of the Amendment, but is intended to explain its general effect.
This Amendment to the Special Transfer Allowance Programme 2000, under section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, amends the average regional rentals as set out in the Schedule of the programme to reflect movements in rentals.
The Amendment comes into effect on 1 April 2001.

Training Incentive Allowance Amendment 2001
Pursuant to section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment establishes and approves the following Amendment to the Training Incentive Allowance Programme (as established and approved on 30 November 1998).

Amendment
- Title—(1) This is the Training Incentive Allowance Amendment 2001.
(2) In this Amendment, the Training Incentive Allowance Programme is called “the programme”.

Commencement—This Amendment comes into effect on 1 April 2001.

Increasing weekly rate of allowance—Clause 6.1.1 of the programme is amended by omitting the figures “75.38” and “3,015.20”, and substituting the figures “78.38” and “3,135.20” respectively.
Explanatory Note:
This note is not part of the Amendment, but is intended to explain its general effect.
This Amendment to the Training Incentive Allowance Programme, under section 124 (1) (d) of the Social Security Act 1964, increases the weekly rate and the maximum annual amount of the Training Incentive Allowance to take account of a CPI increase of 3.98%.
The increases come into effect on 1 April 2001.

Direction in Relation to Special Benefit Amendment 2001
Pursuant to section 5 of the Social Security Act 1964, the Minister of Social Services and Employment makes the following Amendment to the Direction in Relation to Special Benefit dated 10 February 1999.
