Māori Option Notice 2001

Pursuant to section 77 (2) of the Electoral Act 1993, the Minister of Justice gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title—This notice may be sited as the Māori Option Notice 2001.

  2. Commencement—This notice comes into force on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  3. Period for exercise of Māori option—The period of 4 months during which, in 2001, any Māori may exercise the option given by section 76 (1) of the Electoral Act 1993, is the period beginning on 2 April 2001 and ending with the close of 1 August 2001.

The Public Trust Office (Investment Agencies in Common Fund) Notice 15 February 2001

The following notice is given pursuant to section 37 of the Public Trust Office Act 1957 and sections 28 and 41 of the State Sector Act 1988.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—This notice may be cited as the Public Trust Office (Investment Agencies in the Common Fund) Notice 15 February 2001 and shall take effect from and including 15 February 2001.

  2. Interest rates on investment agencies—The rate of interest that may be paid by the Public Trustee on moneys invested by the Public Trustee as agent of any principal in the common fund of the Public Trust Office (referred to in this notice as “agencies”) pursuant to section 37 of the Public Trust Office Act 1957 shall, for the following terms and inclusive dollar ranges, be:

(a) At call 4.25
(b) For a fixed term of 3 months:
(i) For the range $5,000 to $9,999 5.70
(ii) For the range $10,000 to $49,999 5.90
(iii) For the range $50,000 to $249,999 6.00
(iv) For the range above $249,999 6.10
(c) For a fixed term of 6 months:
(i) For the range $5,000 to $9,999 5.60
(ii) For the range $10,000 to $49,999 5.80
(iii) For the range $50,000 to $249,999 5.80
(iv) For the range above $249,999 5.90

| (d) For a fixed term of 9 months: | |
| (i) For the range $5,000 to $9,999 | 5.50 |
| (ii) For the range $10,000 to $49,999 | 5.80 |
| (iii) For the range $50,000 to $249,999 | 5.80 |

| (e) For a fixed term of 12 months: | |
| (i) For the range $5,000 to $9,999 | 5.60 |
| (ii) For the range $10,000 to $49,999 | 5.80 |
| (iii) For the range $50,000 to $249,999 | 5.80 |
| (iv) For the range above $249,999 | 5.80 |

  1. Transitional provisions—(1) Paragraph 2 of this notice shall not apply to any interest payable in respect of the period that ends with 14 February 2001.

(2) Paragraph 2 (a) of this notice shall apply:

(i) to agencies that commenced prior to 15 February 2001, as from that date;

(ii) to agencies that commenced on or after 15 February 2001, as from the date of their commencement.

(3) Paragraphs 2 (b) to 2 (e) inclusive of this notice:

(i) shall not apply to agencies that commenced prior to 15 February 2001; but

(ii) shall apply to agencies that commence on or after 15 February 2001, as from the date of their commencement.\n
4. Revocation—The Public Trust Office (Investment Agencies in Common Fund) Notice 8 February 2001, New Zealand Gazette, page 289, is hereby revoked.

Candidates are advised that the 2001 Professional Interview Examinations will be held in Wellington commencing on Monday, 30 April 2001.

Applications, with the required fees, close on 30 March 2001 with The Secretary, Survey Board of New Zealand, care of Land Information New Zealand, P.O. Box 5501, Wellington.

Candidates' projects must also be received by the secretary on or before that date.
