Declaration of Reserve, Naming of Reserve and Vesting of Reserve in Trustees

Under section 11 (3) of the Ngāi Tahu (Tutaepatu Lagoon Vesting) Act 1998, the Minister of Conservation declares the land described in the Schedule to be a recreation reserve for the purposes of the Reserves Act 1977, that the reserve is named the Tuhaitara Coastal Reserve, and that the reserve is vested in the trustees of Te Kohaka o Tuhaitara Trust to hold and administer as a recreation reserve and, subject to sections 12 and 13 of the Act, to expend money in relation to the reserve for the purposes specified in section 17 of the Reserves Act 1977.

Revocation of the Reservation Over a Reserve Specifying the Manner of Disposal and How the Proceeds Shall be Utilised

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Community Relations Manager of the Southland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation hereby revokes the reservation as local purpose (8 recreation reserves and 1 reserve held in trust for utility purposes) reserves over the land described in the Schedule hereto, and further declares the said land may be disposed of by the Invercargill City Council in such a manner, at such a price, and on such terms and conditions as the council shall determine, the proceeds from any such sale to be paid on to the council’s reserves account, such moneys to be used and applied in or toward the improvement of other reserves under the control of the council, or in or towards the purchase of other land for reserves.
