Part Gazette Notice 265921 (New Zealand Gazette 1869, page 588) and subject to a lease between the Dunedin City Council and the Otago Peninsula Trust over Sections 1 and 2, S.O. 22583 commencing on 1 July 1991 for an initial term of 33 years and with 2 rights of renewal for a further term of 33 years each.

Wildlife Sanctuary

The land described as Otago Land District, Dunedin City, 7400 square metres, more or less, being Section 74, Block II, Portobello Survey District (S.O. Plan 18782). Tatawai Reserve

What Happens Next?

The Trust has located names and addresses for about 70% of the likely descendants. Letters have been sent to these people. If a relative of yours has received a letter or if you believe your Ngai Tahu forebears lived or came from any of the above areas and you have not received a letter, please contact us and we will send you an application for registration. This application will show you the steps necessary to take to establish your claim.

Applications to be included in the provisional list of descendants will close on 31 January 2002.

The Trust will then complete its provisional list and write to everyone on it. At this point, the vesting procedure will be fully explained.
