Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes

Under section 7 (1) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Conservator of the Otago Conservancy of the Department of Conservation and the Commissioner of Crown Lands acting under a delegation from the Minister for Land Information, being the Minister responsible for the department of State that has control of the land described in the Schedule, jointly declare that the land is held for conservation purposes.

1992 hectares, more or less, being Section 2, S.O. 301240. Part document 5070191.6. Subject to a grazing permit for a term of 10 years commencing on 30 June 2001 between Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Commissioner of Crown Lands, and Mathewson Farm Holdings Limited, a copy of which may be inspected at the offices of the Department of Conservation at Dunedin.

New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946

Notice of the Decision of the Former Minister of Survey and Land Information Re: the Assigning of a Place Name

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on 8 December 1994 of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to alter the name of Katui to Kaitui as stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the place described in the second column of the said Schedule.

Objections were received to the proposed change of name and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act in 1995. Pursuant to section 15 of the Act, notice is hereby given of the decision on 10 October 1995 by the then Minister of Survey and Land Information, Denis Marshall, that the name Kaitui would replace the name Katui.

A small locality approximately 45 kilometres north of Dargaville. Topographic map 260 O06, Waipoua, GR 624 117. Spelling correction from Katui.

Notice of the Decision of the Minister for Land Information Re: the Assigning of Place Names

Pursuant to section 12 of the New Zealand Geographic Board Act 1946, notice was given on 1 March 2001, of the intention of the New Zealand Geographic Board to assign the new names stated in the first column of the Schedule below, to the respective places described in the second column of the Schedule.

Objections were received to these proposed names and were dealt with pursuant to section 13 of the said Act.

I hereby declare that it is my decision that the names of these places shall be as referred to in the first column of the Schedule below, and that this decision shall take effect on 15 October 2001.

Nelson Land District

New locality, approximately 7km north-east of Saint Arnaud, along State Highway No. 63. Topographic map 260 N29, Saint Arnaud, GR 2502500E 5936500N. Not named on current mapping.

Canterbury Land District

New locality, situated between the Waimakariri and Eyre Rivers, generally bounded to the west by Wrights, Coffey and Wolffs Roads and to the east by Two Chain Road and including Eyrewell Forest. The current localities of The Warren, Horrellville, Cust, West Eyreton, Swannanoa and Eyreton surround it. Topographic map 260 L35, Waimakariri, GR 2448000E 5754000N and M35, Christchurch, GR 2457000E 5756000N. Not named on current mapping.

Southland Land District

Bay in the Hope Arm of Lake Manapouri. Topographic map 260 C43, Manapouri, GR 2084000E 5501500N. Not named on current mapping.
