Declaring Specially Protected Area

Under section 63 of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares the land described in the Schedule to be held for the purposes of an amenity area to be known as the Ahaura River Amenity Area.

287.1639 hectares, more or less, being Sections 1, 2 and 3, S.O. Plan 12336.

Declaring Specially Protected Area and Addition to the Big River Ecological Area

Under section 63 of the Conservation Act 1987, the Minister of Conservation declares the land described in the Schedule to be an ecological area and, further, adds the area to the Big River Ecological Area to protect the value for which that area is held.

7048.8465 hectares, more or less, being areas “A” and “C” on S.O. Plan 14756.

Authorisation of Exchange of Marginal Strip for Another Strip of Land

Pursuant to section 24E (1) of the Conservation Act 1987, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Acting Auckland Conservator of the Auckland Conservancy of the Department of Conservation authorises the exchanges of the marginal strip described in the First Schedule for the strip of land in the Second Schedule, which shall thereafter be deemed to be reserved as marginal strip pursuant to section 24E (3) of the Act.

North Auckland Land District—Rodney District

First Schedule

1022 square metres, more or less, being Section 1, S.O. Plan 70207, part certificate of title 87A/267, subject to Part IVA of the Conservation Act 1987.

Second Schedule

9.3077 hectares, more or less, being Te Koroto Island, M.L. Plan 1455, all certificate of title 2107/53, limited as to parcels.

Both situated in Block III, Waiwera Survey District.

Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998

Nohoanga Entitlement

Pursuant to section 256 (9) of the Ngai Tahu Claims Settlement Act 1998, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Conservator, Canterbury Conservancy, hereby gives notice that a nohoanga entitlement has been created and granted to Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu on the 19th day of October 1999, over the land described in the Schedule to this notice.

Reserves Act 1977

Revocation of Appointment to Control and Manage a Reserve

Pursuant to the Reserves Act 1977, and to a delegation from the Minister of Conservation, the Community Relations Manager of the Wanganui Conservancy of the Department of Conservation revokes the appointment of the Wanganui District Council to control and manage the Gordon Park Scenic Reserve described in the Schedule.
