This notice amends the original notice that was Gazetted on 17 August 1995 ("the original notice").
This notice takes effect on 1 July 2000.

Non-Specific Output Funding Scheme Amendment

The original notice is amended by omitting the text "Public Good Science Fund (PGSF)" and "PGSF" and substituting the text:

"following output classes:

  • Environmental Research;
  • New Economy Research Fund;
  • Research for Industry;
  • Health Research;
  • Social Research;
  • Māori Knowledge and Development Research; and
  • NSOF".

A special benefit that is the lesser of a or b is justified, i.e. $28.29, subject to paragraphs 3.3 and 3.4."

Explanatory Note:

This note is not part of the amendment, but is intended to indicate its general effect.

This Direction amends the Direction given on 10 February 1999 relating to the grant of special benefit by removing the $5 surcharge.

Direction in Relation to Special Benefit Amendment (No 4)

To: The Chief Executive of the Department of Work and Income

Pursuant to section 5 of the Social Security Act 1964, I direct that the amendments set out in this direction are to be read together with and deemed part of the Direction dated 10 February 1999 given to you under that section in relation to grants of special benefit.

Amendments

  1. Title—(1) This is the Direction in Relation to Special Benefit Amendment (No. 4).

(2) In this amendment, the Direction in Relation to Special Benefit dated 10 February 1999 is called "the Direction".

  1. Commencement—This Direction comes into effect on 1 July 2000.

  2. Clause 3.1 amended—Clause 3.1 of the Direction is amended by:

(a) omitting from the definition of a, the words "less c";

(b) omitting the definition of c;

(c) omitting the example, and substituting the example set out in the Schedule.

"Example
An unmarried community wage earner with 2 dependent children, whose weekly chargeable income is $210.45 and whose weekly allowable costs are $94.30.
