Explanatory Note:
This note is not part of the Direction but is intended to indicate its general effect.
This direction, made by the Minister of Social Services, Work and Income under section 5 (2) of the Social Security Act 1964, amends the direction given by the Minister on 10 February 1999 relating to the grant of special benefit.
The Schedule substitutes the former Schedule and adjusts standards costs to take into account a CPI increase of 0.37%.
The increases come into force on the 1st day of April 1999.

Summary of Exemptions Granted by the Director of Civil Aviation
Pursuant to section 37 of the Civil Aviation Act 1990, notification is hereby given of a summary of an exemption, set out in the Schedule hereto, granted by the Director of Civil Aviation.

On: 7 June 2000.
From: The requirement in Civil Aviation Rule 121.567 (2) (i) that each holder of an air operator certificate shall ensure, after each crew member completes a transition segment of its training programme, the crew member undergoes consolidation by acquiring the appropriate line operation flight time for a pilot as required by 121.571.
This applies only with respect to pilots meeting the prescribed criteria and with certain provisos.
The exemption is identical to that of 99/EXE/57, the conditions of which have been reassessed and allows for reduced consolidation training for transition from B737-200 to B737-300 series aircraft.
This exemption shall apply until the 1st day of June 2005 unless withdrawn in writing by the Director.
Notice of the grant, withdrawal or denial of exemptions with provisos is published in the Civil Aviation Rules Register Information Leaflet (CARRIL).
For the proviso, refer to issue dated 8 June 2000.
