Notice is hereby given that the Registrar will be removing the above-named incorporated society from the Register on the grounds that the liquidator has completed his duties. The liquidator has delivered all required documents to the Registrar.

Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978

Application to Take Marine Mammals

Pursuant to sections 4 and 5 of the Marine Mammals Protection Act 1978, the New Zealand King Salmon Company Limited has applied to the Department of Conservation for a permit to take New Zealand fur seals at its 6 salmon farms in the Marlborough Sounds.

Specifically, the application is for a permit to:

(i) Capture and tag New Zealand fur seals at and in the vicinity of its salmon farms in the Marlborough Sounds.

(ii) Transfer and release the seals to other locations around the South Island, notably the West Coast and South Otago.

(iii) Transfer up to 8 seals on any one day, up to 32 per week and a total of up to 100 per month.

A copy of the full application can be obtained from the Department of Conservation, Monro Building, Private Bag 5, Nelson.

Any person wishing to make a submission on this application can do so by writing to the Conservator, Department of Conservation, Private Bag 5, Nelson, within 28 days after the publication of this notice.
