2. Interpretation—In this bylaw:

“vehicle” has the same meaning as in the Transport Act 1962.

3. Limiting speed of vehicles on State highways—No person shall drive or take or permit to be driven or taken any vehicle—

(a) At a speed exceeding 30 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the First Schedule to this bylaw; or

(b) At a speed exceeding 60 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the Second Schedule to this bylaw; or

(c) At a speed exceeding 80 kilometres per hour on the sections of State highway described in the Third Schedule to this bylaw.

First Schedule

4. The section of State Highway No. 94 at Milford Sound commencing at a point (Route Position 241/16.50) measured 50 metres east of the airport access and extending in a generally northerly direction to the end of the State Highway (Route Position 241/17.40); a distance of 900 metres.

Second Schedule

5. The section of State Highway No. 1 that is:

(a) At Hampden from a point (Route Position 618/7.54) measured 180 metres north of its junction with Monmouth Street to a point (Route Position 618/8.47) measured 30 metres south of its junction with Nottingham Street; a distance of 930 metres.

(b) The section of State Highway No. 1 at Dunedin which includes Cumberland Street and Andersons Bay Road (serving traffic travelling in a southerly direction) from a point (Route Position 706/0.64) at the junction with Water Street to a point (Reference Station 707) at the junction with the Caversham Bypass Motorway; a distance of 1.1 kilometres.

6. The section of State Highway No. 6 at Frankton from a point (Route Position 983/11.55) measured 370 metres in an easterly direction from its junction with Frankton Road (State Highway No. 6A) to a point (Route Position 996/0.15) measured 150 metres in a southerly direction from its junction with Frankton Road (State Highway No. 6A); a distance of 520 metres.

7. The Section of State Highway No. 6A at Frankton from the start of the State highway (Reference Station 0) at its junction with Kawarau Road (State Highway No. 6) to a point (Route Position 0/1.32) measured 150 metres in a westerly direction from its junction with Marina Drive; a distance of 1.32 kilometres.

Third Schedule

8. The section of State Highway No. 1 that is:

(a) At Hampden from a point (Route Position 618/7.06) measured 50 metres north of its junction with Lancaster Street to a point (Route Position 618/7.54) measured 180 metres north of its junction with Monmouth Street; a distance of 480 metres.

(b) At Hampden from a point (Route Position 618/8.47) measured 30 metres south of its junction with Nottingham Street to a point (Route Position 618/9.01) measured 200 metres south of its junction with Oakham Street; a distance of 540 metres.

(c) At Pukerau from a point (Route Position 842/2.03) measured 400 metres east of its junction with Kaiwera Road to a point (Route Position 842/3.37) measured 50 metres west of its junction with West Street; a distance of 1.34 kilometres.

(d) At Woodlands in Southland from a point (Route Position 902/3.33) measured 30 metres north-east of its junction with Grove Bush-Woodlands Road to a point (Route Position 902/3.94) measured 30 metres south-west of its junction with Woodlands Cemetery Road; a distance of 610 metres.

9. The section of State Highway No. 6 that is:

(a) At Frankton from a point (Route Position 996/0.15) measured 150 metres in a southerly direction from its junction with Frankton Road (State Highway No. 6A) to a point (Route Position 996/1.88) measured 280 metres in a south easterly direction from Kawarau Falls Bridge; a distance of 1.73 kilometres.

(b) At Athol from a point (Route Position 1061/2.97) measured 30 metres east of its junction with Albion Street to a point (Route Position 1061/3.79) measured 370 metres west of its junction with Clyde Street; a distance of 820 metres.

(c) At Invercargill from a point (Route Position 1168/0.90) measured 580 metres north of its junction with Moore Road to a point (Route Position 1168/2.49) measured 200 metres north of its junction with West Plains Road; a distance of 1.59 kilometres.

10. The section of State Highway No. 6A that is between Frankton and Queenstown from a point (Route Position 0/1.32) measured 150 metres in a westerly direction from its junction with Marina Drive to a point (Route Position 0/4.89) measured 660 metres in an easterly direction from its junction with Suburb Street; a distance of 3.57 kilometres.

11. The section of State Highway No. 8 that is:

(a) At Tarras from a point (Route Position 247/17.36) measured 140 metres north-east of its junction with Munroes Lane to a point (Route Position 247/17.84) measured 40 metres south-west of its junction with Jolly Road; a distance of 480 metres.

(b) At Roxburgh from a point (Route Position 365/0.87) measured 870 metres south of Slaughterhouse Creek Bridge to a point (Route Position 365/1.97) measured 20 metres north of its junction with Edinburgh Street; a distance of 1.1 kilometres.

(c) At Roxburgh from a point (Route Position 365/3.86) measured 140 metres south of its junction with Smith Street to a point (Route Position 370/0.01) measured 1140 metres south of its junction with Smith Street; a distance of 1 kilometre.

(d) At Ettrick from a point (Route Position 370/9.59) measured 200 metres north-west of its junction with Marsh Road to a point (Route Position 370/11.03) measured 50 metres south-east of its junction with Clutha Road; a distance of 1.44 kilometres.

12. The section of State Highway No. 87 that is:

(a) At Mosgiel from a point (Route Position 0/2.76) measured 180 metres north of its junction with Eden Street to a point (Route Position 0/3.62) measured 200 metres north-west of its junction with Dukes Road; a distance of 860 metres.

(b) At Hyde from a point (Route Position 82/13.48) measured 200 metres south of its junction with Cemetery Road to a point (Route Position 96/0.75) measured 800 metres north-west of its junction with Cemetery Road; a distance of 1 kilometre.

13. The section of State Highway No. 88 that is:

(a) At Dunedin from a point (Route Position 0/1.98) measured 240 metres east of its junction with Leander Street to a point (Route Position 0/2.90) measured 470 metres west of its junction with Tekapo Street; a distance of 920 metres.
