Notice of Intention to Take Land for Stormwater Flood Control and Other Works in the Tauranga District

Pursuant to section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, the Tauranga District Council gives notice of its intention to take under the Public Works Act 1981, the land described in the Schedule to this notice.

The land is required for:

(a) Stormwater and flood control and associated works.

(b) Passive recreation.

(c) Greenbelt between separate residential development.

The reason why the Tauranga District Council considers it reasonably necessary to take the land is because it is part of the lower Bethlehem Valley and the council wishes to provide for prudent long term stormwater and flood control measures and to achieve the multiple objectives set out in the above paragraph.

Any objections to the taking of this land must be sent by written notice to the Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Department for Courts, P.O. Box 2750, Wellington, within 20 working days after the date of this notice.
