Education (Home-Based Care) Order 1992

Home-Based Care (Approved Qualifications)
Notice 2000

Pursuant to clause 5 (45) of the Schedule to the Education (Home-Based Care) Order 1992, the Secretary for Education gives the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Home-Based Care (Approved Qualifications) Notice 2000.

(2) This notice shall come into effect on the day after the date of its publication in the New Zealand Gazette.

  1. Approved qualifications—The following qualifications are approved for co-ordinators of home-based care networks:

(a) A Diploma of Teaching (ECE), a Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) or other early childhood teaching qualification from a teacher education provider approved by the Teacher Registration Board for teacher registration purposes;

(b) An overseas early childhood teaching qualification assessed by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as comparable to (a) above;

(c) A New Zealand Free Kindergarten Diploma;

(d) A qualification or qualifications held to be equivalent to a Diploma of Teaching (ECE) as a result of an application to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority prior to 1 January 1995;

(e) An early childhood teaching qualification which, at the date of this notice, was held by a co-ordinator and had been recognised by the Ministry of Education or the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as equivalent to a Diploma of Teaching;

(f) Subject to paragraphs (i) and (ii) of this subclause, 100 licensing points verified by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority:

(i) For existing co-ordinators, this qualification is recognised only until 31 December 2004.

(ii) For new co-ordinators, this qualification is recognised only until 31 December 2001.

For the purposes of this subclause, a “new co-ordinator” means a person who has never held that designation in any early childhood service before 1 January 2002.

  1. Revocations—This notice revokes the following notices:

(a) Licensing Points Required for People Responsible and Co-ordinators in Early Childhood Services—Education (Early Childhood Centres) Regulations 1990 and Education (Home-Based Care) Order 1992, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 29 September 1994, No. 98, page 2976.

(b) Qualifications Approved by the Secretary for Education For the Purposes of the Education (Home-Based Care) Order 1992, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 25 February 1999, No. 23, page 562;

(c) Licensing Points Required for Persons Responsible and Co-ordinators in Early Childhood Services, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 26 August 1999, No. 101, page 2422;

(d) Qualifications Approved by the Secretary for Education for the Purposes, the Education (Home-Based Care) Order 1992, published in the New Zealand Gazette, 20 April 2000, No. 42, page 936.

Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975

Notice of Cancelled Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 15 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, I hereby give notice that the integration agreement with the proprietors of the following school:

St Stephen’s School (107), Bombay

has been cancelled with effect from 8 December 2000.

Supplementary Integration Agreement

Pursuant to section 10 of the Private Schools Conditional Integration Act 1975, notice is given that a supplementary integration agreement has been signed between the Minister of Education on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, acting through the Senior Manager, National Operations, Ministry of Education, pursuant to delegated authority, and the proprietor of the following school:

St Peter Chanel School, Motueka.

The said supplementary integration agreement was executed on the 28th day of November 2000.

A copy of the supplementary integration agreement is available for inspection without charge by any member of the public at the district office of the Ministry of Education, 123 Victoria Street, Christchurch.
