Proposed Release of Deposit
Pursuant to the Insurance Companies’ Deposits Act 1953
Heath Group (New Zealand) Limited (formerly known as Heath Fielding (New Zealand) Limited and C.E. Heath Insurance Broking (N.Z.) Limited) (hereinafter called “the company”) has given notice to the Public Trustee that it has ceased to carry on the business of insurance in New Zealand and that it proposes to withdraw, pursuant to section 19 of the Act, the deposit which has been made by it with the Public Trustee.
The Public Trustee therefore gives notice, pursuant to section 19(3) of the Act, that being satisfied that all liabilities of the company in New Zealand in respect of such insurance business have been fully liquidated or provided for, he proposes to release to the company on or after the 20th day of December 2000, the amount deposited with him by the company.
Any objections to the release of the amount deposited should be lodged with the Public Trustee at the Public Trust Office, 117-125 Lambton Quay, Wellington 1, on or before the 10th day of December 2000.

GIO General New Zealand Limited
Change of Rating
Pursuant to the Insurance Companies (Ratings and Inspections) Act 1994
On the 15th day of November 2000, Standard and Poor’s lowered the ratings on GIO General Limited and GIO General New Zealand Limited (together GIO General) to “A” from “A+”, equalised with the “A” rating on related company, AMP General Insurance Limited (AMP General).
The ratings have been equalised as a consequence of the substantial operational integration of the 2 general insurance subsidiaries under AMP group ownership.
At the same time, the ratings outlooks on both companies have been revised to negative from stable.
An insurer rated “A” has strong financial security characteristics.
Standard and Poor’s commented that the A ratings of GIO General and AMP General “reflect the companies’ good combined profile and expected operating performance improvements, along with reliance on explicit support from AMP”.
