The unexpectedly high UFG figure for the Central System is believed to be due to problems with check metering,
particularly at the new interconnection to the Bay of Plenty System, rather than with custody-transfer metering.
Under measurement may also have contributed to the Bay of Plenty UFG appearing so favourable.
No statistics are shown for North and Central for 1999 as these two areas were combined in that year
