Safety, I, Peter Waring, Principal Engineer, hereby exempt the vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Code of Practice for the Attachment of Logging Bolsters to Trucks and Trailers used in the Transport of Logs, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 2 of this notice.

Exemption from Requirements of the Code of Practice for the Attachment of Logging Bolsters to Trucks and Trailers Used in the Transport of Logs

Pursuant to Regulation 16A (1) (f) of the Heavy Motor Vehicle Regulations 1974, and pursuant to powers sub-delegated to me by the Director of Land Transport Safety, I, Peter Waring, Principal Engineer, hereby exempt the vehicles specified in Schedule 1 of this notice from the requirements of the Code of Practice for the Attachment of Logging Bolsters to Trucks and Trailers Used in the Transport of Logs, subject to the conditions specified in Schedule 2 of this notice.

  1. Bolster attachments to use existing design with 285,000km recorded truck operation without failure.
  2. Minor modifications to the existing design are only permissible if the certifier can demonstrate by calculation or approved type test that the performance and life of the bolster attachments have not been diminished by the modifications.
  3. This exemption will expire on re-certification of the bolster attachments to a type testing process approved by the Log Transport Safety Committee and the Land Transport Safety Authority or on the expiry of 6 months, whichever occurs soonest.

The Traffic (Hauraki District) Notice 2000

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice.

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Hauraki District) Notice 2000.

  2. Those localities and roads within markings identified in the legend of and appearing on the plan numbered LT0012/1, entitled β€œHauraki District Roading Speed Restrictions in Paeroa Urban Area”, and held by the Head Office of the Land Transport Safety Authority, are declared to be:
    (a) Closely populated localities at all times, pursuant to section 52 (1) (c) of the Transport Act 1962; or
    (b) 70 kilometres an hour speed limit areas, pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976,
    as may be ascertained from the legend. The plan and legend are hereby incorporated into this notice.

  3. The following notice has been revoked:
    The Traffic (Paeroa Borough) Notice No. 1, 1978*.

The Traffic (Hamilton City) Notice 2000

Pursuant to section 52 of the Transport Act 1962 and Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976, and pursuant to an authority sub-delegated to me by the Land Transport Safety Authority of New Zealand dated 9 June 1997, I, John Paul Edgar, Manager, Safer Roads, give the following notice:

Notice

  1. This notice may be cited as the Traffic (Hamilton City) Notice 2000.

  2. The roads specified in the First Schedule are excluded from the limitation as to speed imposed by section 52 (1) of the Transport Act 1962.

  3. The roads specified in the Second Schedule are declared to be 70 kilometre an hour speed limit areas pursuant to Regulation 21 (2) of the Traffic Regulations 1976.

  4. The Traffic (Hamilton City) Notice 1999* is revoked.

First Schedule
SITUATED within Hamilton City:

State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff): from the northern boundary of Hamilton City to the eastern boundary of Hamilton City.

State Highway No. 3 (Hamilton-Woodville via New Plymouth): from State Highway No. 1 (Awanui-Bluff) to the southern boundary of Hamilton City.

State Highway No. 23 (Hamilton-Raglan): from a point 60 metres measured westerly generally along the said State highway from Newcastle Road to the western boundary of Hamilton City.
