The Fisheries (Pilchard Commercial Catch Limit) Notice 2000 (No. F160)
Pursuant to section 11 (4) (a) of the Fisheries Act 1996, the Minister of Fisheries hereby gives the following notice.
Notice
1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Fisheries (Pilchard Commercial Catch Limit) Notice 2000.
(2) This notice shall come into force on the 1st day of October 2000.
2. Interpretation—In this notice:
“Pilchard” means fish of the species Sardinops sp.
“Fishing year” has the meaning given to it in the Fisheries Act 1996.
“Pilchard Management Area PIL 1” means all that area of New Zealand fisheries waters defined as Fishery Management Area 1—Auckland (East) in Part I of the First Schedule of the Fisheries Act 1996.
3. Commercial catch limit—As from the date this notice comes into force, the commercial catch limit for pilchard applies for each fishing year until amended or revoked:
