The Ngaruroro River between the Chesterhope Bridge and Fernhill Bridge

The Mohaka River downstream from its confluence with the Mangatainoka River, excluding tributaries

The Waipunga River upstream to the falls, excluding tributaries
All year

Lake Te Pohue north of the two signposts on the south side
All year

The larger of the two lakes, known as Twin Lakes, at Kuripapango
All year

Lakes Tutira and Waikopiro, except Sandy Creek and the lake outlet channel
All year

Lake Opouahi
All year

  1. AUTHORISED TACKLE
    No licence holder, when fishing for sportsfish, shall use:

3.1 Any bait or lure treated with any chemical preparation other than that used solely to give buoyancy to an artificial fly.

3.2 Any lure having more than one hook or having a multiple hook, or any fixed assembly of hooks.

  1. AUTHORISED LURES
    Authorised lures are:

Artificial fly
Spinner

No licence holder shall fish any water into which any ground bait, berley or other fish attractant has been placed

  1. FLY FISHING ONLY WATERS
    Fly fishing only may be practised in the following waters and their tributaries:

Cochranes Creek
Hautapu River
Mangaonuku Stream
Maharakeke Stream
Mangaone River
Maraetotara River
Ngaruroro River above the Kiwi Creek junction
Makaretu River
Te Hoe River
Tukipo River
