3.5 Any lead or weight (other than hooks as permitted elsewhere in this notice) attached below or as to hang below any lure or bait.

3.6 As a bait any fish taken from any water other than in which it is being used as a bait.

3.7 Such restrictions in Sections 3.1 to 3.6 should apply notwithstanding any other restrictions, limitation or indulgence or licence granted by this Schedule.

4. VESSEL FISHING RESTRICTIONS

4.1 No licence holder shall fish for sports fish from any vessel in that part of the Waikato River between the Arapuni Dam and the upper limits of Lake Karapiro (as shown by the white marker post, situated 200 metres below the Huihuitaha Stream mouth) unless that vessel is securely anchored at all material times.

5. ARTIFICIAL FLY FISHING ONLY WATERS

5.1 Artificial fly fishing in the Auckland/Waikato Region means to fish for sports fish with fly rod and fly reel and fly line and artificial fly, but with no additional weight to facilitate casting.

5.2 Artificial fly fishing is the only fishing method for sports fish allowed in the following waters and their tributaries:

  • Awakino River from its source to the Mahoenui Bridge
  • Hikutaia River from its source to the ford on the old Whangamata Track
  • Kakahu Stream (north-east of Okoroire)
  • Kaniwhaniwha Stream
  • Komata Stream
  • Mangatutu Stream from its source to the Lethbridge Road Bridge
  • Ngakoahia Stream from its source to the bridge on Pirongia-Kawhia roadway
  • Okauaka Stream
  • Puniu River from its source to the Bayley Road Bridge
  • Waione Stream
  • Waipapa River upstream from the first waterfall situated approximately 0.5km from Lake Waipapa
  • Wairoa River from its source to the Hunua Falls

6. SPIN FISHING AND ARTIFICIAL FLY FISHING ONLY WATERS

Spin fishing and artificial fly fishing are the only fishing methods for sports fish allowed in the following waters:

  • Mangatangi Reservoir
  • Mangatawhiri Reservoir
  • All rivers and streams, excluding any waters specified in Sections 5, 7 and 8 of this Schedule.
