Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977

Thames Valley Rural Fire District Constitution and Administration Notice 2000

Pursuant to sections 4 (1) and section 8 (1) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice is the Thames Valley Rural Fire District Constitution and Administration Notice 2000.

(2) This notice comes into force on the 1st day of October 2000.

  1. Constitution of the Thames Valley Rural Fire District—The areas set out in the Schedule to this notice are hereby constituted and declared to be a rural fire district to be known as the Thames Valley Rural Fire District.

  2. Constitution of the Thames Valley Rural Fire Committee—The Thames Valley Rural Fire Committee is hereby constituted as a rural fire committee.

  3. Administration of the Thames Valley Rural Fire District—(1) For the purposes of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the Thames Valley Rural Fire District shall be administered by the Thames Valley Rural Fire Committee.

(2) The committee shall consist of 6 members as follows:

(a) One person appointed, in writing, by the Hauraki District Council; and

(b) One person appointed, in writing, by the Matamata-Piako District Council; and

(c) One person appointed, in writing, by the Thames-Coromandel District Council; and

(d) One person appointed in writing by the Chief Executive of the New Zealand Forest Owners Association after such consultation as the Chief Executive considers appropriate with Carter Holt Harvey Forests Limited, Ernslaw One Limited, and Evergreen Forests Limited; and

(e) One person appointed by the New Zealand Fire Service under the signature of its Chief Executive; and

(f) The Manager of the Thames Valley Combined Civil Defence District Emergency Planning Unit.

  1. Schedule

South Auckland Land District

(1) All those parcels containing 383,600 hectares, more or less, as shown on S.O. Plan 61436, lodged in the office of the Chief Surveyor, Hamilton but excluding all “fire districts” as defined in section 2 of the Fire Service Act 1975 (for ease of reference that land is also shown on plans numbered NRFA 132 deposited in the Corporate Office of the New Zealand Fire Service at Wellington).

Wellington Regional Council Rural Fire District Abolition Notice 2000

Pursuant to section 4 (4) of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977, the National Rural Fire Authority hereby makes the following notice.

Notice

  1. Title and commencement—(1) This notice may be cited as the Wellington Regional Council Rural Fire District Abolition Notice 2000.

(2) This notice will come into force on 1 October 2000.

  1. Abolition of the Wellington Regional Council Rural Fire District—The Wellington Regional Council Rural Fire District is hereby abolished.

  2. Revocation of Rural Fire District Notice—The Hutt Rural Fire District Order 1948* is hereby revoked.

Reserves Act 1977

Declaring Land to be Held for Conservation Purposes Together With a Declaration That the Area Become a Reserve

Under section 7 (1A) of the Conservation Act 1987, the Conservator of the Otago Conservancy of the Department of Conservation declares that the land described in the Schedule is held for conservation purposes and, under section 8 (1A) of the Act, further declares that the conservation area be set apart as a reserve subject to the Reserves Act 1977, and classified as a recreation reserve subject to the provisions of the latter Act.

Schedule

Otago Land District—Queenstown Lakes District

1292 square metres, more or less, being Section 60, Block XXI, Shotover Survey District.

Reserves Act 1977

Vesting Reserve in the Queenstown Lakes District Council

Under the Reserves Act 1977, the Conservator of the Otago Conservancy of the Department of Conservation vests the reserve described in the Schedule hereto, in the Queenstown Lakes District Council in trust for recreation purposes.
