Disputes Tribunals Act 1988

Disestablishment of Disputes Tribunal

Pursuant to section 4 (5) of the Disputes Tribunals Act 1988, I hereby disestablish, as from the close of 29 October 2000, the Disputes Tribunal established at Otahuhu (New Zealand Gazette, 1981, Volume I, page 896), and direct that the records of that Tribunal shall be delivered on 30 October 2000, or as soon thereafter as may be practicable, to the Registrar of the District Court at Manukau.

Establishment of Disputes Tribunal

Pursuant to section 4 (1) of the Disputes Tribunals Act 1988, I hereby establish, as from the commencement of 30 October 2000, a tribunal to exercise the jurisdiction created by that Act at Manukau.

The tribunal shall be a division of the District Court at the place in which it is located.

Appointment of Manukau as a Place in Which a District Court May be Held for the Exercise of Civil and Criminal Jurisdiction

Pursuant to section 4 (1) and section 4 (2) of the District Courts Act 1947, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint, as from the commencement of 30 October 2000, the City of Manukau as a place in which courts may be held for the exercise of civil and criminal jurisdiction.

Appointment of Court to Exercise Criminal Jurisdiction in Respect of Indictable Offences

Pursuant to section 4 (2A) of the District Courts Act 1947, as inserted by section 2 (2) of the District Court Amendment Act 1980, His Excellency the Governor-General has been pleased to appoint, as from the commencement of 30 October 2000, the City of Manukau as a place in which courts may be held for the exercise of civil and criminal jurisdiction in respect of indictable offences under Part IIA of the District Courts Act 1947.

Transfer of Records of Otahuhu Court

Whereas in pursuance of a direction of His Excellency the Governor-General, the District Court at Otahuhu has been abolished, as from the close of 29 October 2000.

Now, therefore, pursuant to the provisions of section 70 (1) of the District Courts Act 1947, I do direct that the records of the Otahuhu District Court be delivered on 30 October 2000, or as soon thereafter as may be practicable, to the Registrar of the District Court at Manukau.
