Amending New Zealand Gazette Notice—Land Acquired for Use in Connection With a Road—State Highway No. 1, Mercer—Long Swamp, Franklin District

Pursuant to section 55 of the Public Works Act 1981, and to a delegation from the Minister of Lands, Stephen Robert Gilbert, Land Information New Zealand, hereby amends the notice dated the 17th day of December 1999, acquiring land for use in connection with a road, published in the New Zealand Gazette on the 13th day of January 2000, No. 1 at page 64, by replacing “2.0234 ha” as describing the ninth area of land in the Schedule with “1.9013 ha”.

Notice of Intention to Take Land Near Mercer for Road

Notice is hereby given that the Minister for Land Information, under the provisions of section 23 of the Public Works Act 1981, proposes to take the land described in the Schedule hereto (“the land”).

The land is required for roading purposes. It is intended to use the land to form part of State Highway No. 1 between Mercer and Long Swamp and is considered reasonably necessary for the safe and convenient use of the road.

The owners of the land and those persons with a registered interest in it have been served with notice by the Minister for Land Information of his intention to take their land and their right to object.

Any person having the right to object may send a written objection to the Registrar, Environment Court, Tribunals Division, Department for Courts, P.O. Box 5027, Wellington, within 20 working days after the date of publication of this notice.

If any objection is made in accordance with this notice, a public hearing will be heard with the right of the objector to appear and be heard personally unless the objector otherwise requires and each objector will be informed of the time and place of the hearing.
